Practice test: 1180 (590 Reading and Writing, 590 Math). Test in eight weeks. I’m aiming for 1350.
Eight-week plan
| Weeks | Focus | Practice |
|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | Linear equations and systems; transitions and punctuation | Two 25-minute sets a day, missed questions reviewed the same day |
| 3–4 | Nonlinear functions and percentages; reading for central ideas | Sets plus one timed module each weekend |
| 5–6 | Geometry and data analysis; inferences and command of evidence | One full practice test, then a review week on the misses |
| 7–8 | Mixed review and pacing; rest the day before the test | One more full practice test; light sets only in the last three days |
Explained: if 3(x − 4) = 2x + 5, what is the value of x?
- Expand the left side: 3x − 12 = 2x + 5.
- Subtract 2x from both sides: x − 12 = 5.
- Add 12 to both sides: x = 17.
- Check: 3(17 − 4) = 39 and 2(17) + 5 = 39. Both sides match.
- Desmos route: graph y = 3(x − 4) and y = 2x + 5 and read the intersection, (17, 39).
