Explained: if 3(x − 4) = 2x + 5, what is the value of x?

  1. Expand the left side: 3x − 12 = 2x + 5.
  2. Subtract 2x from both sides: x − 12 = 5.
  3. Add 12 to both sides: x = 17.
  4. Check: 3(17 − 4) = 39 and 2(17) + 5 = 39. Both sides match.
  5. Desmos route: graph y = 3(x − 4) and y = 2x + 5 and read the intersection, (17, 39).

What Leo does

  • Reads your practice score report and finds the skills costing you the most points.
  • Builds a week-by-week plan to your test date across Reading and Writing and Math.
  • Explains missed questions step by step and writes similar questions to practise on.
  • Coaches pacing for the adaptive format, where each section has two modules.

What Leo won’t do

  • Does not do graded homework, take-home tests or anything your school requires you to complete on your own.
  • No real or leaked exam questions: it reviews the official practice tests you take and writes its own practice items. Confirm test dates, rules and accommodations with College Board.
  • Cannot guarantee a score. It shows you where the points are and keeps you practising.

How it works

  1. Share your starting point

A practice test score report, your target score and your test date.

  2. Get a plan

Leo weights the weeks towards the skills with the most points available to you.

  3. Practise and review

Send the questions you miss. You get the steps, the trap and a similar question to try.

Questions

Is the SAT still on paper?

No. The SAT is digital and taken in College Board’s Bluebook app. It has two sections, Reading and Writing then Math, each split into two adaptive modules, and scores run from 400 to 1600.

Does it use real SAT questions?

Take the official practice tests in Bluebook and share your results; Leo reviews them with you and writes its own practice questions in the same style.

How long should I study?

It depends on the gap between your current and target scores and the time you have. Leo sets the plan from those three numbers and adjusts it every week.

Will it do my homework?

No. Leo explains, quizzes and coaches; graded schoolwork stays yours.
